In a ceremony to establish a solar photovoltaic power station in Ramin city in Khuzestan, Gholamreza Shariati, the provincial governor of the province admired government’s new move to stablish the plant and said: “Establishment of such plant is a must for Khuzestan province which is encompassed with pollutants such as the suspended particles”.
“Although we have been witnessing some excellent measures done in Khuzestan province during the last two years by Khuzestan Regional Electric Co (KZREC), but the new investment by the private sector to set up the photovoltaic power plant in the new city of Ramin is a paramount measure to produce clean energy in the province”, he added in the ceremony participated by some officials from KZREC and local administrative figures.
According to KZREC Department of Public Relation, Shariati underlined that the very goal of the implementation of some five developmental plans in the city to produce new and clean energy with lesser pollutants could not be achieved if government had not supported it.
“As the environmental situation in the province implies to provide its citizens with clean air, government has been focusing on the rapid execution of such developmental plan to generate new energy”, he reiterated.
Seyyed Mehrdad Beladi Moosavi, KZREC Deputy for Research and Planning also described the project of establishing the new power station as one of the most effective governmental plans in the province and said: ”This 10 megawatts solar station is to be executed and operational within six months with a 400 billion Rials investment by private sector”.
He added: “As generating renewable energies has always been an important issue in the country and in the province, this province can be considered as a strategic province in the country to generate such clean energies, because it still well enjoys extensive plain lands to execute the project”.
Hopping the provincial authorities, especially the administrators in Bavi and Ramin cities would support enough the investments in the project to push the completion of the plan as soon as possible, Beladi Moosavi said: “A proper and rapid implementation of the plan can also be considered as effective to attract more developmental investments in the province”.
The KZREC Deputy for Research and Planning also said: “KZREC as the sole executor of such plans in the field of maintaining and implementation of power generation and distribution in the province, had done a lot in this regard and have so far defined some more relevant projects, six of which are now simultaneously undergoing in Badi”.
Beladi Moosavi named implementation of Shahid Hashemi, Shiban and Ghadir Power Posts as three of these six projects to be implemented in the nearby city (Ramin) with an investment value of 1500 Billion Rials and expressed hope that the projects will be operating in next three years.
Concerning the establishment of some renewable energy plants and gas-fuel generators in Khuzestan province, he said:” We have issued about 27 investment licenses in the field which are all passing their final process to be suitable to generate about 500 megawatts electricity.
