MD of KZREC: Denmark invests in Khuzestan renewable energy generation sector
Mahmoud Dashtbozorg, Chairman of the Board of Directors and the Managing Director of Khuzestan District Energy Company (KZREC) said that Denmark and Iran signed a Memorandum of Understanding to build 2 wind power farm in Izeh and Khorramshahr cities of Khuzestan province.
Mahmoud Dashtbozorg, Chairman of the Board of Directors and the Managing Director of Khuzestan District Energy Company (KZREC) said that Denmark and Iran signed a Memorandum of Understanding to build 2 wind power farm in Izeh and Khorramshahr cities of Khuzestan province.
“This European country decided to invest 160 million Euros in Khuzestan province to develop the province’s renewable energy infrastructures with the help of the golden (valuable) ever blowing wind in the province” he added.
According to the KZREC Department of Public Relations, Dashtbozorg said in the meeting to sign the Mou in the governorate of Khuzestan province in Ahwaz that the investors from Denmark and Poland signed the MoU with their Iranian counterparts to build a 50 megawatts wind power farm in the cities after visiting the construction places of the projects”.
He listed “Job creation for the youths of the region, economic development and generating renewable electricity energy” as the benefits of building the farms in Izeh and Khorramshahr and said: “We are also busy with building two electricity posts in the two cities and connect them to the district power network and the farms which are to be constructed with help of extra facilities allocated the foreign investors”.
Asserting that the two projects will be inaugurated soon, the managing director said: “Of the special characteristics of the two farms we can refer to the large size of their turbines with a technology to generate 3,45 megawatts electricity and are unique in the world, as well.
“These two farms in Izeh and Khorramshahr are expected to need more than 80 million Euros to be completed”, he added.
It must be noted that Mr. Shariati, the governor of the province said in the meeting that the current agreements to build a 50 megawatts farms in the two Khuzestan cities are followed by the 2 other separate ones which had been signed in the trips to Denmark and Poland last year and attracted these investors.
We follow up the implementation of the two projects with cooperation of KZREC to receive the necessary licenses from the relevant bodies to build them as soon as possible.
It is also noteworthy that the Danish and Plish investors had a tour of Izeh, Khoramshahr and the port city of Mahshahr for 3 days to review the feasibility of the implementation of the projects.
